Portland Tournament, New Sensei, Golden Gift Cards and More!

Obukan Portland Tournament medalists!

Hanabi had a fantastic trip to Portland, Oregon for the Obukan Tournament on March 30! Jargal, Zander, Taiyo, and Keidan were undefeated as they secured 1st place. Shuhan and Kemet claimed 2nd place while Raangsen and Jargal – in a second, older age division – took 3rd place. And Theo showed great determination though he missed placing this time. Congratulations to all our competitors!

New Instructor From Japan!

We are excited to introduce Hayato Nagashima Sensei, the latest addition to our Hanabi family! Nagashima Sensei is a graduate of Waseda, one of the most famous universities in Japan, known not just fort its academic excellence but also for its strong judo. He was actually the captain of the judo team!  He has competed internationally and placed in top European competitions. We look forward to having him share his knowledge and inspire our members.
