Hanabi Spring Classic Tournament
April 13, Saturday, we will be hosting the Hanabi Spring Classic judo tournament at Pinole High School. We will have a sumo competition for our younger students and a real judo tournament for our Honto students. There will be no classes at Hanabi on April 13.
Kids Night Out!
Our monthly Kids’ Night Out will be on Saturday, April 20th from 6 PM to 9:30PM. We’ll be watching, ‘Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea’, eating pizza, playing games, and having fun! Cost: $35 with $5 for pizza (optional). Please RSVP by 5 PM on Friday April 19th.
New Instructor From Japan!
We are excited to introduce Hayato Nagashima Sensei, the latest addition to our Hanabi family! Nagashima Sensei is a graduate of Waseda, one of the most famous universities in Japan, known not just fort its academic excellence but also for its strong judo. He has competed internationally and placed in top European competitions. Nagashima is eager to share his knowledge and inspire our members.
Volunteers Needed
Join us at the Hanabi Spring Classic Tournament and help make it a success! We’re seeking assistance with desserts, “grab n’ go” items (such as sandwiches, granola bars, etc.), and beverages. Additionally, we need help setting up the competition hall on Friday night, April 12th, and cleaning up the venue after the tournament on April 13th. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Women's Judo Class!
Starting in May, we’re launching our Women’s Judo Class. Join us on Thursdays from 6:40 to 8:10 for sessions led by Cheryl Sensei. Don’t miss this empowering opportunity to learn judo!
