Judo/Sumo Tournament and Pot-Luck,
Pokémon Camp and More!
Sumo/Judo Shiai and Pot Luck
June 23 was our second monthly Sumo and Judo tournament for ALL of our students and it really was fun for ALL. Over 25 of our students attended along with many family members who came to watch. The sumo players ranged in age from 3 to 11 years and, in the end, 7 year old Tenzin Naktsang had the most wins and earned a first place ribbon. The judo shiai was also an intense competition with our more experienced players all fighting hard. Caio Rodrigues had the most wins and earned himself first place. After the competition we enjoyed indian rice, blondies and a wonderful blueberry cobbler among other yummy pot luck dishes. Next month’s event will be July 21. We look forward to seeing you there!
Pokemon Summer Camp
We just finished our third week of Pokemon Summer Camp: Pokemon Anime’. Our 10 Alameda and 14 Albany campers were drawing Pikachu, Pichu, Bulbasaur and many more of their favorite Pokemon characters. Thirteen year old Kai Nakamura, who started with us at three, helped lead the Albany camp along with Natalie Good, a Senior at Cal Poly Pomona, who attended Hanabi at ten. Watching our kids grow and become leaders is honestly one of my greatest joys. I love bragging about our students! We still have camps through the middle of August so check us out if your children have any free time this summer.
July Kids Night Out!
July 8 will be our next evening event for you children. We will be watching Totoro, eating pizza and playing lots of fun games. We hope you can make it! You can also register now by clicking on the button below.
