Parents’ Night Out

Our next Parents’/Kids’ Night Out will be February 10, Saturday from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Children will enjoy games with their friends, our teenage assistants and our black-belt instructors. We will be watching Pokemon The Movie: I Chose You!, eating pizza and popcorn too. It is always a fun time for all! The price is $35 with $5 for pizza (optional). Please RSVP by 5 PM on Friday February 9th.

Our virtual candy store is now open! Every purchase of See’s chocolate eggs, boxed chocolates and more goes towards our Team Hanabi members expenses such as travel, tournament registrations, uniforms and more. The deadline for the fundraiser is March 15th. Enjoy sweet spring treats while supporting a great cause! ❤

“Judo at the Plex” San Jose Open Training

Last Sunday, February 4, seven Hanabi athletes attended an open training session with over 100 judoka from around Northern California. World Champion and Olympic medalist Mike Swain (who beat out Dan Augustine for the 1988 Olympic team) demonstrated some of his famous techniques and it was a great experience for all. Congratulations to Raangsen, Kemet, Chelsea, Theo R., Walker, Jargal, Teo and of course Yurii Sensei who supported all of our members.

2024 Team Hanabi

The purpose of the team is to offer an enriching experience that includes the satisfaction of hard work, challenge of competition and deepening of friendships. Deadline for membership will be Wednesday February 7. Please contact us for questions. Team Hanabi is open to all Honto students and we encourage you to join!

Pokemon Summer Camp!

Registration is now open for Hanabi’s Pokemon Summer Camp! We have eleven weeks of camp starting on June 10 in Albany, at Hanabi, in Piedmont and in Alameda. The first two weeks in Albany will have an additional special judo program specifically for our competitors. Hanabi judo and Pokemon: a truly great combination!
