Promotions!
We will be testing all of our students during the month of September. Sensei will be determining if you receive a shima or a belt test. If you pass the shima test your promotion fee will be a $35 charge. If you pass your belt test the charge will be $50.
All Hanabi Parents Welcome to a Free Month of Hanabi!
To celebrate the beginning of our new Tuesday “Otona no Judo” or adult beginning class we are inviting all Hanabi Parents to try a free month of Hanabi Judo. Simply let us know you’re interested and we’ll sign you up!
New September Classes
Tuesdays, beginning in September, our new “Little Honto” class will be at 5:05, followed by at “Otono no judo” or Adult’s Judo class for beginner’s at 6:40 pm. The Tuesday Hajime class will move up to 4:00 pm.
Labor Day
September 4, Monday we will not be having classes in recognition of the Labor Day Holiday.
Solano Stroll
Sunday, September 10 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm we will be in the Solano Stroll with booth at Masonic and Solano. Hanabi will have demonstrations and talk to our neighbors. Please sign up below to help us.
East Bay’s Tournament in El Cerrito

Bojuka Results
Last Sunday August 27, Hanabi attended the Bojuka tournament in Seaside near Monterey and our students made us proud. Shuhan won all of her matches by Ippon (full point): gold medal! Chelsea won all of her matches by ippon: gold medal! And Theo R., in his first tournament, won three out of four matches and earned a silver medal!
