Parent’s Night Out
Our monthly Parent’s Night Out/Kids’ Night Out will be on Saturday, May 11th from 6 PM to 9:30PM. We’ll be watching, The Pokémon Movie, eating pizza, playing games, and having fun! Cost: $35 with $5 for pizza (optional). Please RSVP by 5 PM on Friday May 10th.
North Bay Open Work-Out
On May 11, in Petaluma, CA, Hanabi will be assisting with the 2024 North Bay Open Work-out. This will be a smaller, more intimate practice with exhibition matches that will be perfect for newer students. We encourage all of our Hanabi Honto students to attend! May Promotions
In May all students will be testing for their next higher shima or belt. May 29 will be not just our belt promotion ceremony but our black belt promotion ceremony when we will watch the kata performance of two candidates who we expect to be promoted to “shodan,” first degree black belt. Promotions for “shima” will be $35 while belt promotions will be $50.
Women's Judo Class!
Thursdays join our Women’s Judo Class! From 7:15 to 8:45 pm our 5th degree black belt, Cheryl Sensei, will be leading an energetic and exciting class. Learn basic judo for falling safely and for gaining strength. Become a part of our women’s judo community.
Thursday “Little Honto”
Join our Thursday Honto, “Real”, judo class for our smaller judo players from 5 to 10 years. The class will be from 5:45 to 7:15 and will focus on fun, active judo that prepares our little ones to be strong judo players and strong people.
Golden State Open and Senior National Championships!
Beginning on May 24 there will be two of the largest tournaments in the nation run one after the other: the Senior Nationals will be followed by the Golden State Open. Well over 1000 judo players will participate in these events including over a dozen from Hanabi. For more information contact Dan or Cheryl Sensei.
