December testing is well under way! Every student will be tested this month and our belt promotion ceremony, for those receiving new belts, will be on Wednesday, December 20, at 6:45 pm. Shima promotions will be $35 and new belts will be $50.
Please wear your white uniform and come with your family to our Annual Award’s Pot Luck on December 12th at 5:30 PM! There will be awards for many of our special students and their families. Please bring your favorite dish to share!
Our monthly Kids’ Night Out will be on Saturday, December 9th from 6 PM to 9:30PM. We will be watching Frozen, eating pizza, playing games, and having fun! Cost: $35 with $5 for pizza (optional). Please RSVP by 5 PM on Friday December 8th.

Hanabi will be hosting a week of “PokeCamp” in Albany during winter break from December 29-January 2. Like our popular summer camp, we will have judo and art activities – such as origami and anime – related to Pokemon.
2025 Winter Pokecamp Information and Registration
Last month we finished learning over 25 animal names in Japanese and this week, starting with “Hana” (nose), we have begun parts of the body. We will be adding two or three new parts of the body each week for the next three months so we should finish with toes (ashi no yubi) some time in late February.
