On Saturday, May 2, Hanabi will be visiting Cahill’s Judo Academy to train with their large group of young competitors. Cahill’s is one of the most historical dojo’s in Northern California, being led for decades by Willy Cahill, a 9th degree black belt and Black Belt Hall Of Fame member. Since the 1950’s my father, myself and my sons have trained there. May 2 training begins at 8:30. Please be there no later than 8:15.
Team Hanabi showed up in force in San Jose this past weekend, training with judoka from across California and instructors from Sweden and Germany. It was a long day with our younger players having 4 hours of training. Our seniors also arrived at 8:30 am and finished their two sessions of judo near 5:00 pm. Students learned new drills like “surfing” on their partners back and new versions of familiar techniques.
During the month of April we will be giving out Hanabi’s “Golden Gift Cards.” These special cards entitle the recipient to a free month of judo at Hanabi. We will be handing them out to our members who can then gift them to a friend. They are beautifully printed in both English and Japanese so we hope they’ll be a nice present that will allow your friends to enjoy Hanabi.
June Price Increases
In June all Hanabi classes will be increasing in price $10/month. As always, we welcome any family with concerns to contact and speak to me directly.
