This past Sunday, March 29, Avi and LaJohnica competed at the High School Nationals in Fresno and we now have two High School national champions! Avi beat two opponents and earned the gold medal. LaJohnica, who faced a veteran black belt, fought valiantly but ultimately earned silver. Thanks to Yurii sensei and Avi’s dad Jeff for their support and congratulations to our champions!
Hanabi loves the great Northwest. Here is Team Hanabi in 2017 in Spokane, WA.
A dozen Team Hanabi including family will be heading to the Northwest this coming weekend for a very special training opportunity. On Friday, April 3, the team will be working out at the Washington Judo Academy along with Seattle’s very strong Ippon Dojo. The following morning, in Canada, Hanabi will be doing the Regional Coastal Training with judoka from across British Columbia.
Hanabi will host a Spring Developmental Tournament on April 19. This tournament is an opportunity for our competitors, especially beginning competitors, to gain experience in a fun, smaller venue.
