Hanabi “Nengajo”- New Year’s Card

On Saturday, December 30 at 12:30 pm we prepared our 2024 “Nengajo” or New Year’s Cards. In Japan greeting cards are sent out on New Year’s rather than on Christmas as we do in the US. Hanabi, following the Japanese tradition, sent out cards to our friends around the Bay and around the world.

Kids Night Out!

Our monthly Kids’ Night Out will be on Saturday, January 13th from 6 PM to 9:30PM. We’re going to watch the movie “Cars”, eat pizza, play games, and have fun! Cost: $35 with $5 for pizza (optional). Please RSVP by 5 PM on Friday December 12th.

January Oyako - Parent and Child - Judo!

Beginning January 20, two year olds working with their parents will be able to enjoy Hanabi Judo in our “Oyako” or Parent and Child class. Children will learn how to fall safely, sing enthusiastically, speak Japanese and follow instructions like a real judo kid. Oyako Classes will be on Mondays at 3:45 pm and on Saturday mornings at 8:15 am.

Pokemon Summer Camp

Hanabi is already thinking of summer and our Pokemon Summer Camp. Pokemon and Hanabi Judo are a great combination so join us! We have 11 weeks of camp from June through August in Albany as well as camps in Alameda and Piedmont.

Martin Luther Kings Birthday

Hanabi will be closed on January 15 in recognition of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
