Our monthly Kids’ Night Out will be Saturday, July 18th From 6 PM to 9:30 PM. We will be watching Lilo and Stitch, eating pizza, playing games, and having fun! Cost: $40 with $5 for pizza (optional). Please RSVP by 5 PM on Friday July 17th.
Hanabi offers after-school care and school pickup for students from TK to 5 at Albany’s Marin, Cornell and Ocean View Elementary schools as well as for students in Berkeley and El Cerrito schools. In our after-school care program the kids will have study time, physical activities and cultural experiences all with Hanabi’s emphasis on respect, discipline and fun!

As the summer continues our Hanabi students continue traveling the world and doing judo. Katarina, who was recently in Osaka, has been visiting South Korea, where she trained with Project Dojo in Seoul. Kevin K has been visiting his grandparents in Taiwan for the summer and practicing at Zhongshan Judo Hall in very hot and humid Taipei. Please let us know if you are having any judo adventures this summer.
The Summer Nationals will be in San Francisco this coming weekend, but please also plan for:The Scholar’s Academy Tournament in Brentwood on August 23, The East Bay Judo Academy tournament in El Cerrito on September 13 and the San Jose Open on September 18-20. San Jose Open registration is open now.
