Our monthly Kids’ Night Out will be on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14th! From 6 PM to 9:30 PM we will be watching the romantic Disney classic “Lady and the Tramp,” eating pizza, playing games, and having fun! Cost: $40 with $5 for pizza (optional). Please RSVP by 5 PM on Friday February 13th.

Hanabi will be closed on February 16 in recognition of the President’s Day Holiday.
The Palo Alto Judo Tournament will be held Sunday, February 22 at Menlo-Atherton High School. All Hanabi Honto students are welcome to attend. This is a required tournament for 2026 Hanabi Team members.

Yamaguchi and Nakamura’s pictures, just two of the many world university champions that Kokushikan has produced, are displayed at their dojo in Japan.
Kokushikan University of Japan will be at Hanabi on Wednesday, February 18, Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21. Saturday will also be our monthly in-class shiai followed by a farewell pot-luck party for the Kokushikan team! That evening, we are looking for a few families that can take a Kokushikan student for an overnight “homestay” experience.
