Our monthly Kids’ Night Out will be Saturday, June 6th! From 6 PM to 9:30 PM. We will be watching Totoro eating pizza, playing games, and having fun! Cost: $40 with $5 for pizza (optional). Please RSVP by 5 PM on June 5th.
A dozen little Chibi and Hajime students had sumo battles followed by 50 judo players competing in our team judo tournament this past Saturday. We were happy to be joined by Sensei Billy Worthington of Lakeridge Judo Club and his sons as well as Sensei David Quinones and a few of his students from 510 Dojo. Theo W, Mei M, and Robin were recognized for their beautiful throws while Jojo from Hanabi and Eng, a white belt from 510 who had to fight several more experienced players, won the Spirit awards. And afterwards we all enjoyed a wonderful potluck featuring home made pasta, meat balls, lemon cake, fried rice, sushi and more. So much food! So much fun!
Next week, on June 8, we begin 11 weeks of PokeCamp in Albany, Alameda and Piedmont starting. Each week features Pokemon related activities: all participants actually receive Pokemon cards every day! And we do judo! It is a fun adventure filled camp with games and art and your favorite sempai will be leading! For more information click on the button below. Scholarships available!
The United States Judo Federation Summer Nationals will be in San Francisco on July 11 and 12 and all of our Honto students are encouraged to attend. This tournament, featuring judoka from around the country, will be a great opportunity for our students to gain experience. For more information and to register click below.
