Our monthly Kids’ Night Out will be Saturday, March 7th! From 6 PM to 9:30 PM. We will be watching Toy Story eating pizza, playing games, and having fun! Cost: $40 with $5 for pizza (optional). Please RSVP by 5 PM on Friday March 6th.
Parents Night Out Information and Registration
During the month of March Hanabi students will be tested for a higher level of shima (stripe) or belt. Students generally need 5 shimas before they are promoted to a higher belt but students can skip to a higher level if sensei decides it is appropriate. Testing is done continuously throughout the month until all of our students have been tested. For those who will be earning new belts our belt promotion ceremony will be on Wednesday, March 26, at 6:45 pm. Shima promotions will be $35 and new belts will be $50.
In March we start our new unit of Japanese: colors! For the last three months we have learned the parts of the body so it will be fun to learn “aka, ao and kiiro” (red, blue and yellow).
Team Hanabi visited Cahill’s Judo academy on February 28 and enjoyed a vigorous workout with our judo friends from San Bruno. Thank you to Tony Sensei, Joe Sensei, Ben Sensei and the entire Cahill’s judo community for welcoming us!
